ZEMA is originally from Montgomery County, Maryland, with roots in Ghana and Ivory Coast. Now based in Washington, D.C., he is a recent MBA graduate and working professional.

Growing up surrounded by music, ZEMA learned to play the saxophone, clarinet, and xylophone, developing a deep appreciation for sound from an early age. He was raised on old-school Ghanaian Highlife, Hiplife, and Afrobeats before eventually falling in love with Amapiano, Gqom, Afro House, and the broader world of Afro-electronic music.

ZEMA’s sound is deeply shaped by his culture and his passion for creating vibrant sets that move both the body and the spirit. He believes in the power of music—that one great song can turn a bad day into a memorable one. Through his sets, ZEMA loves introducing people to new sounds and creating unforgettable moments, connections, and shared experiences on the dance floor.
